Conditional code execution via shortcode deserialization
Published May 16, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
PHP object injection in ConvertPlus 3.5.26 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject objects through a crafted shortcode. The smile_modal shortcode handler deserializes untrusted data from its settings_encoded attribute, allowing attacker-controlled object instantiation. Contributor-level access is required, and file deletion, sensitive-data retrieval, or code execution occurs only when another installed plugin or theme supplies a usable POP chain.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
