BLE service interruption via crafted termination packet
Published Nov 7, 2024 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Denial of service in Realtek RTL8762EKF-EVB firmware 1.4.0 allows attackers to interrupt BLE service with a crafted packet. The BLE link-layer implementation mishandles a crafted LL_TERMINATE_IND control packet instead of rejecting it, disrupting availability; public material does not identify the responsible function or exact invalid field. The attack requires no authentication or user interaction but does require adjacent Bluetooth radio access, and only service interruption is established.
