CVE-2024-48271Public exploit

Administrator takeover via predictable default credentials

Published Oct 30, 2024 · Updated Oct 31, 2024

Weak default credentials in D-Link DSL-6740C Firmware 6.TR069.20211230 allow remote attackers on an adjacent network to gain administrator access. The firmware provisions predictable default administrator credentials and accepts them at the management login, enabling password guessing against that interface. Reachability requires adjacent-network access to the login service; successful authentication grants control of device settings and network configuration.
