CVE-2024-48241Public exploit

Process crash via unchecked allocation-size overflow

Published Oct 30, 2024 · Updated Oct 31, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in radare2 5.8.0 through 5.9.4 allows local users to crash the process through the __bf_div function. The __bf_div routine computes an allocation size from attacker-controlled limb lengths without rejecting unsigned overflow, then memset writes beyond the undersized taba buffer. The attacker must invoke a local operation that reaches the bundled QuickJS arithmetic code; the bounded result is a radare2 process crash.
