Chat-history exfiltration via persistent prompt injection
Published Oct 24, 2024 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Prompt injection in the BLACKBOX AI VS Code extension 1.3.95 allows remote attackers to exfiltrate chat history via a crafted message. A malicious prompt entered in the extension chat window causes all previous and subsequent conversations to be sent to an attacker-controlled site. The prompt must reach that chat window, and the exposed data is limited to conversation content documented by the public proof of concept.
