Browser script execution via unsanitized deletion status
Published Nov 4, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024
Stored XSS in Mudler LocalAI 2.20.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts in a user's browser through the model-deletion API. The deletion workflow preserves an attacker-controlled model value in a transient status message and renders it on the homepage without HTML sanitization. Successful exploitation requires a user to open the homepage and grants script execution in that user's browser context.
