CVE-2024-47943Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated root code execution via forgeable updates

Published Oct 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Improper firmware signature verification in Rittal IoT Interface and CMC III before 6.21.00.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The upgrade verifier accepts a SHA-512 digest made with a hard-coded key embedded in downloadable firmware, then runs the supplied run.sh as root. Exploitation requires an administrator session in the web interface and grants complete control of the device.
