Code execution via out-of-bounds PSM parsing
Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens Solid Edge SE2024 before V224.0 Update 9 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted PSM file. The PSM file parser reads beyond the end of an allocated structure while processing attacker-controlled file data. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file, after which code runs with the privileges of the current Solid Edge process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
