CVE-2024-4785

Peripheral crash via unchecked connection interval

Published Aug 19, 2024 · Updated Sep 17, 2025

Divide-by-zero in Zephyr RTOS 3.6 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to crash a BLE peripheral with a malformed control packet. llcp_pdu_decode_conn_update_ind accepts a zero connection interval from LL_CONNECTION_UPDATE_IND, and ull_conn_update_parameters later uses that value as a divisor. The victim must be a connected BLE peripheral processing a central-initiated connection-parameter procedure; exploitation terminates the BLE controller.
