Blocked-account review changes via missing block check
Published Oct 4, 2024 · Updated Oct 7, 2024
Authorization bypass in Wikimedia Foundation PageTriage allows remote attackers with blocked accounts to review or unreview articles. The pagetriageaction API accepts review-state writes without rejecting a caller whose MediaWiki account is blocked. Exploitation requires a blocked account that can still reach the API, and the bounded effect is unauthorized alteration of article review status and exposure of associated review information.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
