Stored HTML injection via unsanitized private messages
Published Oct 16, 2024 · Updated Oct 16, 2024
Stored HTML injection in Admidio before 4.3.12 allows remote authenticated users to alter private-message rendering with crafted markup. The message sender passed msg_body to admFuncVariableIsValid with the html type, preserving tags when private messages were stored and reopened. A user must be able to send a private message, and a recipient must reopen it; demonstrated impact is attacker-controlled HTML in that recipient's view.
