Account takeover via skipped old-password verification
Published Apr 30, 2025 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Unverified password change in ABB ANC, ANC-L, and ANC-mini 1.1.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to seize accounts. The web HMI password-change form accepts a new password without verifying the account's existing password. Temporary access to an authenticated session is sufficient to replace the password and lock the legitimate account holder out.
