Account takeover via unchecked recovery password update

Improper authentication in Lif Platforms Lif Authentication Server before 1.7.3 allows remote attackers to reset a target account password. The account_recovery WebSocket handler accepts a password message and writes its hash and salt without first confirming the emailed recovery code. Knowledge of the target email is sufficient; no account privileges or user interaction are required, and the resulting password change grants control of that account.
