Application crash via uninitialized CFF font fields
Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Use-after-free in Mozilla Firefox before 126, Firefox ESR before 115.11, and Thunderbird before 115.11 allows remote attackers to cause a crash. _cairo_cff_font_fallback_create leaves several cairo_cff_font_t members uninitialized, so cairo_cff_font_destroy frees the uninitialized fd_local_sub_bias pointer. A crafted page must reach CFF fallback font generation and a user must save it as PDF; successful triggering interrupts the client with a crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
