Kernel memory access via malformed OCFS2 xattrs

Out-of-bounds access in Linux OCFS2 from 2.6.28 allows local users to trigger unsafe kernel memory access via a crafted image. ocfs2_xattr_find_entry() trusts the on-disk xattr count while advancing entry pointers and fails to stop at the valid xattr memory region. The crafted OCFS2 image must be mounted and an extended-attribute lookup must scan it; the public advisory does not establish a specific crash, disclosure, or code-execution outcome.
