Argument injection in XZ Utils command-line tools 5.6.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter commands via malicious filenames. Native Windows builds convert unsupported Unicode filename characters through legacy code-page best-fit mappings, producing ASCII option delimiters or path syntax. The issue requires a MinGW-w64 or MSVC build and a filename reaching a tool invocation; Cygwin and MSYS2 builds and liblzma are unaffected.
