CVE-2024-47602

Application crash via unchecked codec_priv pointer

Published Dec 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

NULL pointer dereference in GStreamer gst-plugins-good before 1.24.10 allows attackers to crash applications via crafted Matroska/WebM files. The gst_matroska_demux_add_wvpk_header function passes stream->codec_priv to GST_READ_UINT16_LE without first rejecting a NULL pointer. An application must process the malicious media input to reach the flaw; successful exploitation terminates that process with a segmentation fault.
