CVE-2024-47553Network attack vector

Authenticated root code execution via ssmctl-client argument injection

Published Oct 8, 2024 · Updated Mar 10, 2026

Argument injection in Siemens SINEC Security Monitor before 4.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as root. The application passes insufficiently validated user input to the ssmctl-client command, allowing injected argument delimiters to alter command execution. A low-privileged account and network access are required, and successful exploitation grants full control of the underlying operating system.
