Stored XSS via unsanitized settings inputs
Published Jun 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Google CSE for WordPress 1.0.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject script through plugin settings. The administrative options page saves either settings input without sanitization and renders the value without output escaping. Administrator privileges and a subsequent page view are required; injected script executes in the viewer's browser even when unfiltered_html is disabled.
