Application crash via unchecked CENC group pointers
Published Dec 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
NULL-pointer dereference in GStreamer before 1.24.10 allows context-dependent attackers to crash applications with crafted MP4/MOV files. qtdemux_parse_sbgp reads tack_properties_array->len without checking whether the pointer is NULL, while a cleanup branch tests track_group_properties but frees fragment_group_properties. Processing a malicious file through the MP4/MOV demuxer is required, and the bounded consequence is a segmentation-fault application crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
