CVE-2024-47531Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Active content execution via attachment filename injection

Published Sep 30, 2024 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Output escaping failure in Scout 4.88.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to make exported panels use arbitrary extensions. downloaded_panel_name inserts panel_name directly into the Content-Disposition filename, allowing a quote and semicolon to terminate the intended name before its .txt suffix. An authenticated attacker must create a crafted panel and persuade another user to download and open the export, which executes attacker-supplied active content.
