Phishing redirects via unvalidated post-login destination
Published Sep 30, 2024 · Updated Sep 30, 2024
Open redirect in Clinical Genomics Scout 4.88.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to send users to arbitrary sites through a login link. The /login route stores the unvalidated next query value in the session, and perform_login passes that value directly to Flask redirect after authentication. A victim must follow the crafted link and complete login; the resulting external or downgraded-HTTP redirect enables phishing or session interception.
