CVE-2024-47529Public exploit

Password disclosure via persistent browser LocalStorage

Published Oct 2, 2024 · Updated Oct 31, 2024

Cleartext credential storage in OpenC3 COSMOS Core before 5.19.0 allows local users to read a user's password from browser LocalStorage. Login.vue assigns this.password directly to localStorage.openc3Token, leaving the reusable frontend credential persistently readable in the browser profile. Exploitation requires access to that browser profile or script execution in its COSMOS origin and exposes the password without altering server data.
