Unauthorized private-post likes via manipulated object ID
Published Jun 4, 2024 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Authorization bypass in BuddyBoss Platform before 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to like private posts through crafted requests. The activity_mark_fav AJAX action accepts a client-controlled id value and records a favorite without enforcing the target post's privacy. A valid session cookie and nonce appear in the published request, and the demonstrated effect is limited to adding an unauthorized like.
