RPD crash via malformed BGP AS PATH
Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Oct 11, 2024
Denial of service in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows remote attackers to crash and restart RPD. With BMP rib-in pre-policy monitoring enabled, RPD processes a specifically malformed AS PATH attribute instead of rejecting it, triggering a crash. The sender must have an established BGP session, and exploitation interrupts routing while RPD restarts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
