CVE-2024-47260Network attack vector

Device memory exhaustion via excess audio clip uploads

Published Mar 4, 2025 · Updated Mar 28, 2025

Resource exhaustion in the VAPIX mediaclip.cgi API in AXIS OS 9.80 through 12.2 allows remote authenticated users to exhaust device memory. The endpoint accepts uploads beyond the designed audio-clip limit because it does not sufficiently validate the number of clips, allowing repeated additions to consume all available memory. Exploitation requires an operator- or administrator-privileged service account and interrupts the device through memory exhaustion; Axis has not disclosed further implementation details.
