Log tampering via unescaped TLS variables

Log injection in mod_ssl in Apache HTTP Server 2.4 through 2.4.63 allows remote attackers to insert escape characters into logs. When CustomLog uses "%{varname}x" or "%{varname}c" for mod_ssl variables such as SSL_TLS_SNI, neither mod_log_config nor mod_ssl escapes client input before writing it. Exposure requires that nondefault logging configuration; injected control sequences can falsify or obscure log presentation without altering server content.
