Unauthenticated command execution via crafted HDFS URL
Published Sep 21, 2024 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Shell command injection in Vesoft NebulaGraph Studio through 3.8.0 allows remote attackers to execute commands through a crafted HDFS job URL. DownloadJobExecutor parses the HDFS job URL without validating its host or path before the values reach HdfsHelper; the patch adds strict IPv4 and path allowlists. Network access is sufficient; no authentication or user interaction is required, and successful injection executes commands on the service host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
