Administrator compromise via unsanitized playlist name
Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated Sep 27, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Ampache before 6.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a playlist name. The show_democratic.inc.php template interpolates the Democratic Playlist name into an info-box heading without output sanitization. An administrator or catalog manager must store the payload, and a privileged user must view the playlist; script execution can expose the viewer's account or enable manager-to-administrator escalation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
