Code execution via unsanitized IPP attributes
Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Improper input validation in OpenPrinting libppd 2.1b1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted IPP attributes. ppdCreatePPDFromIPP2 writes attacker-controlled IPP values into a generated PPD buffer without rejecting invalid response data. Exploitation requires a chain that obtains the attributes through a caller such as cfGetPrinterAttributes5 and processes the resulting directives with Foomatic.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
