Authenticated JSON file disclosure via path interpolation
Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Mar 12, 2025
Path traversal in Agnaistic Agnai before 1.0.330 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server-side JSON files. The loadMessages handler interpolates request-controlled params.id into a messages-{id}.json filename and passes it to read without checking for traversal sequences. Exploitation requires a low-privileged account and the nonstandard JSON_STORAGE mode, and disclosure is limited to JSON files readable by the server process.
