CVE-2024-47166Network attack vector

Source-code disclosure via one-level path traversal

Published Oct 10, 2024 · Updated Oct 11, 2024

Path traversal in Gradio before 4.44.0 allows remote attackers to read custom-component source code via the /custom_component endpoint. The endpoint resolves attacker-controlled file paths without rejecting a parent-directory segment, so a request can escape one directory above the intended custom-component location. Exposure requires a server that hosts custom components and makes the Gradio application network-accessible; the demonstrated consequence is source-code disclosure only.
