Message-key replacement via unauthenticated remote update
Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Missing authentication in goTenna Pro 1.61 and earlier allows remote attackers to replace public keys used for messaging. The app accepts unauthenticated remote key-update messages and stores the supplied public keys for P2P and group messaging. Access to the radio mesh is required, and successful exploitation makes unauthorized keys govern protected message exchanges.
