Message tampering via integrity-free AES-CTR encryption
Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 21, 2024
Missing message integrity in goTenna Android Pro before 2.0.3 and iOS Pro 1.6.1 and earlier allows attackers to alter messages via radio access. CTR-mode encryption protects short-message confidentiality but supplies no integrity check, so ciphertext changes are accepted without detecting manipulation. Access to radio-carried traffic is required, and exploitation changes message content without disclosing plaintext or interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
