Server crash via crafted query buffer overflow
Published Nov 7, 2025 · Updated Nov 7, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in IBM Db2 Server allows remote authenticated users to crash the database service via a crafted query. The query-processing path writes beyond a stack buffer when handling crafted statement data; IBM has not disclosed the affected function. Successful exploitation requires low-privileged database access and interrupts availability on affected 10.5.0 through 10.5.11, 11.1.0 through 11.1.4.7, 11.5.0 through 11.5.9, and 12.1.0 through 12.1.2 servers.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.5.0 <=10.5.11
- Affected versionversion=11.1.0 <=11.1.4.7
