Credential disclosure via unsanitized custom HTML
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Dec 10, 2024
Cross-site scripting in IBM Carbon Charts 0.4.0 through 1.13.16 allows remote authenticated users to disclose session credentials. The library renders developer-supplied custom HTML without sanitization, allowing embedded JavaScript to execute when a user interacts with a chart. An attacker needs authenticated access to supply the HTML, and successful exploitation also requires a user to interact with the affected chart in a trusted session.
