CVE-2024-47102

Local service interruption via perfstat authorization failure

Published Dec 25, 2024 · Updated Sep 29, 2025

Improper authorization in IBM AIX 7.2, 7.3 and VIOS 3.1, 4.1 allows local users to interrupt service through perfstat. IBM identifies the AIX perfstat kernel extension and its bos.perf.perfstat fileset but does not disclose the improperly authorized operation or triggering input. A non-privileged local account is required, and the documented consequence is limited to availability loss.
