CVE-2024-47100Network attack vector

CPU mode change via cross-site request forgery

Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Cross-site request forgery in Siemens SIMATIC and SIPLUS S7-1200 CPUs before 4.7 allows remote attackers to change CPU mode. Siemens identifies the web interface as the locus but has not disclosed the affected request handler or missing request-authenticity check. Exploitation requires a legitimate authenticated user with sufficient CPU permissions to follow a malicious link, and the resulting mode change alters controller operation.
