Cross-account access via client-controlled OTP verification
Published Sep 19, 2024 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
Authentication bypass in Apex Softcell LD DP Back Office before 24.8.21.1 allows remote authenticated users to access other accounts. Certain API endpoints accept an arbitrary OTP value and trust a client-altered API response instead of enforcing server-side OTP verification. A valid account is required, and successful exploitation bypasses the second factor protecting another user's account.
