Improper message verification in Meshtastic Firmware before 2.5.1 allows physically proximate attackers to control remote hardware. The RemoteHardwareModule accepts control packets without confirming that they arrived on the dedicated gpio channel. A nearby radio sender needs no account or user interaction and can read or write exposed GPIO pins, affecting connected hardware and node availability.
