Browser script execution via unvalidated locale
Published Sep 23, 2024 · Updated Sep 23, 2024
Reflected XSS in Oveleon Contao Cookiebar 1.16.2 and earlier and 2.0.0 through 2.1.2 allows remote attackers to run browser scripts. The block function in CookiebarController.php copies the locale path parameter into the response template without validating that it is a locale. A victim must follow a crafted block/locale URL; the injected script then runs in the site's browser origin and can read or modify data available there.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
