CVE-2024-47064Network attack vector

Victim-authority API access via unescaped request ID

Published Sep 30, 2024 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Reflected XSS in CVAT 2.16.0 through 2.18.0 allows remote attackers to act through a logged-in user's browser via a crafted URL. The retrieve and cancel handlers interpolate an attacker-controlled request ID into an HTML HttpResponseNotFound body without escaping or validation. A logged-in user must follow the crafted link; injected JavaScript then issues API requests with that user's privileges, exposing or modifying all data available to the account.
