Local privilege escalation via ISap use-after-free
Published Dec 18, 2024 · Updated Dec 18, 2024
Use-after-free in the ISap component of Google Android Kernel allows local users to escalate privileges without user interaction. A logic error in android.hardware.radio.sap.ISap/slot2 permits use of freed memory, but Google keeps the faulty operation undisclosed in a private issue. Exploitation requires local access but no additional execution privileges, and successful abuse grants elevated privileges on an affected Pixel device.
