User-level code execution via unvalidated LscShim URL
Published Jun 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Command injection in Lenovo Service Bridge before 5.0.2.17 allows remote attackers to execute code after a crafted link is visited. The LscShim module parses a crafted URL without validating a user-supplied string before passing it to a system call. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and commands run as the current user.
