Process crash via unchecked Indexed color index
Published Nov 10, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in psi/zcolor.c in Artifex Ghostscript before 10.04.0 allows local users to crash it via crafted PostScript input. The Indexed color-space procedure path accepts an integer index without checking that it falls between zero and hival before using the lookup result. The input must be interpreted by Ghostscript; the published assessment requires user interaction and limits the reported consequence to a process crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
