CVE-2024-46948Network attack vector

Authenticated device-data disclosure via unfiltered RBAC API

Published Nov 8, 2024 · Updated Feb 10, 2025

Incorrect access control in Northern.tech Mender before 3.6.5 and 3.7.0 through 3.7.4 allows remote authenticated users to read device data. The /devauth/devices API returns limited information for every device in an organization without applying role-based device-group filtering. Exploitation requires an organization using RBAC device groups and an authenticated user with group-limited access; exposure is limited to status, MAC addresses, public keys, and timestamps.
