CVE-2024-46933Network attack vector

Permanent device bricking via unlocked OTP programming

Published Feb 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 13, 2025

Improper hardware configuration in Eviden BullSequana XH2140 BMC before C4EM-125 allows remote authenticated users to brick the BMC. Unprogrammed AST2600 one-time-programmable memory remains writable with SoC vendor tools, allowing hardware secure boot to be activated without the required production configuration. High privileges and specialized SoC programming tools are required, but successful OTP programming causes a permanent service interruption.
