CVE-2024-46908Network attack vector

Administrator escalation via unvalidated GetFilterCriteria input

Published Dec 2, 2024 · Updated Dec 2, 2024

SQL injection in the Progress WhatsUp Gold API endpoint before 2024.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to escalate to an administrator account. The GetFilterCriteria method uses a user-supplied string to construct SQL queries without proper validation. Report Viewer permissions are sufficient to reach the method, and successful exploitation grants access to resources normally restricted to administrators.
