Privilege escalation via GetFilterCriteria SQL injection
Published Dec 2, 2024 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
SQL injection in the WhatsUp Gold API before 2024.0.1 allows remote authenticated users with Report Viewer access to gain administrator privileges. The GetFilterCriteria method uses a user-supplied string to construct SQL queries without proper validation. Report Viewer permissions are sufficient, and successful injection reaches resources otherwise restricted to an administrator.
