CVE-2024-46873Network attack vector

Root command execution via hidden debug URL

Published Dec 23, 2024 · Updated Dec 24, 2024

Active debug code in six Sharp router models allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands as root through a hidden web UI URL. The shipped web interface leaves a hidden debug function enabled, and requesting its undisclosed URL invokes operating-system commands with root privileges. Exploitation requires LAN connectivity over Wi-Fi, USB, or Ethernet and knowledge unavailable through normal operation; successful access permits full command execution on the appliance.
